“A girl is trapped in the map and desperately needs your help to escape. Have you got what it takes to navigate her out of this dangerous photographic maze. The clock is ticking.” This is the pitch for an advertisment campain that was organized in 2011 by Mercedes around a interactive commercial produced by an English advertising company  (http://www.escapethemap.co.uk/). The structure and content of this interactive film offer an Orwellian perspective on possible abuses of the growing power that geospatial technologies have on our daily lives.

«Une femme est prisonnière d’une carte et a absolument besoin de ton aide pour s’échapper. Possèdes-tu ce qu’il faut pour l’emmener hors de ce labyrinthe dangereux ? Le temps presse.» C’est en ces termes qu’était présentée en 2011 une campagne de publicité organisée par Mercedes Benz autour d’un film interactif conçu par une agence publicitaire anglaise (http://www.escapethemap.co.uk/). La structure et le contenu de ce film publicitaire offrent une perspective orwellienne sur l’emprise croissante que les technologies géospatiales ont sur notre quotidien.

RoboCop is a 1987 science fiction and action film directed by Paul Verhoeven. The Detroit Police Departement is, by contract, under the control of a private consortium, OCP (Omni Consumer Product). But the hidden objective of OCP is to destroy the old town of Detroit and replace it with a new urban complex, Delta City. But before building Delta City, it is necessary to stop crime in the old centre. OCP has many plans to achieve this task. One of them is the RoboCop project which consists of building a cyborg policeman. The movie uses several spatial machineries : world map, 3D model,  tracking device, guidance system,  thermograph and automated targeting system

RoboCop est un film de science-fiction et d’action  réalisé en 1987 par Paul Verhoeven. Dans la ville de Détroit le département de police est géré par un consortium privé  : OCP (Omni Consumer Product). Les dirigeants d’OCP ont un autre rêve : Delta City, qui remplacera la vieille ville de Détroit, rongée par le crime. Cependant, éradiquer cette criminalité est un préalable à l’arrivée des milliers d’ouvriers qui construiront Delta City. Pour cela, plusieurs projet existent, dont le projet RoboCop qui consiste à fabriquer un policier cyborg, mi-homme, mi-robot. Au cours du film, nous découvrons une panoplie de dispositifs différents : un planisphère, une maquette 3D, un système de géolocalisation, un système de guidage, un thermographe et un système de visée automatique.
